Volleyball tomorrow is a rain-out…

By Mr. Q • June 7th, 2009

How many picnics do you think we have lost to rainy days? For those of you that are interested the volleyball game scheduled for tomorrow night (6/8) from 6 to 7pm has been cancelled due to precipitation planned for all day.

So… that’s at least one volleyball game, but how many picnics? How many times have we prepred the sandwiches, got the thermos full, found those red plaid napkins and headed out to a down pour of H2O. Do we press on in rain or should we just let it wash our plans away? Now I am not talking about the wet stuff that comes from the clouds anymore, I’m talking about the days were you just feel that the sun is not shining. There are days were we just don’t feel like serving the Lord. On those days are the times we need to be in God’s word and in prayer. It’s like calling a friend on a dreary day, reading your bible will pick you up when the spiritual weather gets you down. So when those days come, and they will, read your Bible and go play in the rain, knowing that that day will pass and God’s mercies are new every morning. So don’t let the great picnic God has planned for you get ruined by some rain and remember to hope in Him… always!

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,  for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning;  great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”. – Lamentations 3:22-24
