Remember… A memorial to those who have fallen
You know what, I don’t think I ever really spent time on Memorial Day actually in memory of those how have fallen for our freedom before. Have you? Have you ever thought of that feeling a soldier has running out into the battlefield, knowing that this could be the last act for his (or her) country? There have been many different battles and wars since our country has been founded and countless brave souls that gave the ultimate for this country. Even those who didn’t agree with the president that was elected, or thought less then highly of the wars they were fighting still shed their blood as well and as freely as others.
This also got me thinking about the people that have given their life for Jesus. Do we spend enough time in memory of the saints that have given their life for the one I love? Do I understand the strength and courage it takes for a life to be given up for Christ? So many have given up everything for the savior I adore, how can I not give up my life to Him while I still live? If I say I love Him enough to die for Him, but refuse to live for Him… what does that say of me? How does that honor those who the Creator of all call home in service of Him? This memorial day, remember all of those who have fallen in the line of duty… both for our country, and more importantly for the name of the Jesus.
