New This Year
Mr. Q what’s new this year to Youth Group. Well I’m Glad you asked!
The H in H Challenge
The Hidden In heart Challenge or H in H Challenge is that we want you guys to start putting verse in your hearts… Today! “… Umm it’s summer we aren’t suppose to use our brains…” Well that’s just not true so in order to keep things fresh each week there will be a memory verse and the date of the Thrusday in which it can be proclaimed… I will keep track and those who do 25 of the 37 will get a free ticket to a special six flags trip just for those who finished the memory verses and keep current with Devo Review (see below). Since it is summer have this one ready for the Kick Off and you will be on a good start! See the home page for the current verse.
Devo Review
This will be a time added on to your daily devotional that you are already doing. You will get a little booklet that will have the dates, verses and a little room to write your thoughts on the verse. Then daily you will read the 2 to 3 verses that it has and write down your thoughts on them, you will bring the booklet along with you to YG and we can share our thoughts and ideas about Gods word. It’s a great way to get united, get in the Word, and get thinking! On top of that the H in H will occasionally come from that weeks Devo Review. 2 birds one with one verse…. or something like that. Devo Review participation will be counted towards the Six Flags trip for the H in H Challenge.
Rules for the challange
The H in H verse must be proclaimed the week of the memory verse, some exception may be made. Verses can be individuals translation but must allow the leader to follow along with that translation. The Devo Review will also be considered in part of the Hidden In Heart Challenge and will also be checked off for the Six Flags trip eligibility.
S.O.S!
Introducing the newest thing to hit the WKBC Youth group since…um… well it’s new and thats what’s important… S.O.S! other wise know as “Something on Sunday!” The newest and best social event at WKBC, S.O.S! will be the place to showcase young musicians love for the Lord thru a teen worship team, and also the place to hang out and do… well something. Something can include, but is not limited to, games (like spoon, manhunt, ultimate musical chairs) it could be sports (like kickball, soccer, basketball, floor hockey), or maybe even a movie. The point is to give you a place to unwind, relax, chill, hang out, or any other slang term used to mean enjoying friends in a social setting. S.O.S! is always the last Sunday of the month and starts at 6pm and goes to 8:30pm. So we look forward to seeing you there!
